15. Theodore Huf 1, 2 (Charles P , Charles ) was born on 22 Feb 1903 in Philadelphia, PA. He died on 3 Mar 1961 in West Palm Beach, FL. Theodore was divorced 3 in 1940 in Palm Beach, Florida.
Theodore married (1) Emma Bender 1 daughter of Albert Bender and (?). Emma was born 2 on 2 Mar 1891. She died 3 in Dec 1978.
Emma's brother was Charles (Chief) Albert Bender b. 5 May 1884 in Crow Wing County, MN. d. 22 May 1954. His father Albert was German. His mother was full blood Chippewa. He attended the Carlisle Indian School in Pennsylvania. Chief was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1953.

Hi Ted,
Oh yes...Bender is the "other" famous Indian to come out of Carlisle. One of the former library assistants at the historical society where I work was particularly fascinated by Bender and he did some research for a writer who was working on an article. There is a fat file of photocopies, articles from the local Carlisle newspapers as well as from the Indian School newspapers about the great athlete. His sister, Elizabeth taught at Carlisle from 1915-16. She later married Henry Roe Cloud, one of the founders of the Society of American Indian. You probably know all this already.

His brother, James Bender attended Carlisle 9/5/1896-3/8/1900.
He was expelled in 1900; cause unknown.
His sister, Elizabeth, taught at the Carlisle School from 1915-1916.
She married the famous Henry Roe Cloud.
