Ronald Huf provide me with a copy of Pvt. Joseph Hilbert's discharge papers from the the 29th Regiment of
New York State Volunteers. He enrolled on 15th day of May 1861 (the war started April 12, 1861) and was discharge on 20th day of June 1863, at New York City by reason of expiration of term of service are age 34. It states that he was born in Bohemia, Austria and his occupation when enrolled was a weaver. The paper is signed by Henry A Ellis, Capt. 17th US
Infantry.
